Painting my car

Lady in a Mercedes ran a light and smacked my car pretty good....

But! Somehow I walk away with only cosmetic damage? Lucky day I guess...and of course no one was hurt which is really the important thing.

Sooooo, instead of using the money to fix that body part it will go to my fund for painting the whole car...(makes sense right?)

I say redo the winestone, but have the painter throw in some extra metallic to really make it shine. But not too much! Then have the wheels powercoated a little darker bronze.

I had to look up winestone :P Found this pic: Image

I agree, winestone with darker bronze wheels would be great!

mY 92 SS is winestone. If I had money for painting I would definately make it black. There is nothing cooler than black.

I think that a dark grey, like a charcoal or jet black looks more rich than plain black. But that's just me. :)

If you like your car looking like crap every time it rains, or the fir trees start dropping pollen, etc then paint it black so everything will show. I've had 3 ALL black cars and trucks) and keep saying never again, but tnen I'm a perfectionist for detailing....

I personally love the Winestone, and think a little extra flake in the first coat of clear would really bring out the sparkle.

I had a friend who painted his Chevy flat black, then sprayed a reddish/purple clear coat with medium flake, then one final coat of clear. at night it was gloss black,, but when the sun or certain type of lights hit it it turned almost red. pretty sharp car.
