EBC Yellowstuff - Review

This might ought to go in the Review forums but I tend to do most of my searching on brake compenent opinions here and thought it'd be most helpful here. If any mod feels like moving it, you're welcome to.
So my SS was needing new pads and brakes are one area I like to do right. I started running performance pads with Mintex 1155's ( think that's right) and then when I couldn't find those anymore I went to Axxis Metal Masters - not the Ultimates but one step down. I've been happy with all of those, particularly the Mintex, but I wanted to step up a notch with the SS as I run it harder than my old BC or my OBW. After looking around I went with the EBC Yellowstuff's.
This is a race pad that people state works well for street as it has good cold performance. Installation went as expected and it was off to bed them in. I did the usual bedding process of warming them up a little and then progressively getting on them harder through several 60-10 stops. Once I felt comfortable that they were bedded in I went to push them a little.
I am running 185/65/15 Yoko Observe's (came with the car). This is a dedicated snow tire and is noticable. It handles well for a skinny higher profile tire but it is not a sticky summer tire. My ABS is also currently deactived (bad relay). That being said, these pads bring things to a stop very quickly. They have an excellent feel and are very consistent at all pedal pressures. They will easily lock my tires at any speed but are easy to modulate and keep the tire close to the edge. Even with the skinny snow tires I was comfortable approaching hot and braking 'late'. They just have a comfortable feel.
Being a race pad I expected them to perform when hot - and they do - but I wanted to see how they do cold. So I drove down the highway for a bit without braking to let them cool and then pulled off onto a side road to see how they brake. Simply put, I was impressed. Excellent grip, feel, and still easily locks my tires.
Overall impressions - well worth the cost. Excellent feel and grip at all temps. To compare to pads I've run in the past, Yellowstuff > Mintex > Metal Masters. These pads really bring out the ability of stock brakes and anybody that feels that stock brakes are weak - get yourself some good pads and good tires. They are ample stong enough to inspire the confidence that can get you into trouble
