one of many jdm parts i got (my other goodies are top secret right now  ).

if anyone was curious as to what the difference is bewteen the usdm ones... like nearly all japanese taillights there is no side reflector on these. that's it. looks much better IMO

Liberty is only in Australia, Japan got the Legacy name along with the US.

update

i got the rear garnish today...definitly looks different than a usdm one.

1) the color of the panel is waaaaayyyy dark red, almost black. the color of the word legacy is the shade of red as the tailights

2) there is no "parking/brake" lens on the L&R sides, it is solid across.
the backing of the peice is like a usdm one, but the bulb holders have a rubber plug in it. took it out and even if i put a bulb in there, no light is getting through. there is a layer of paint or something on the inside

*EDIT*
so i thought this piece was weird cuz ive rechecked pics of some jdm rear garnishes and they look like usdm ones HHHmmmm

could they have split the panel, paineted it and re-assembled?? It'd look good if you could make the taillights look the same, but still show up.

Sorry to bump this from so long ago... but...

I found out what the rear garnish was from...

A D-Type Legacy RS-RA

ONLY THE D-TYPE the A-C types had the normal red garnish like the usdm ones.

So Brad... you lucky sob have an RS-RA D-type Rear Garnish...

*is going to grab my old garnish and split it and re-do it*

And a note about the JDM rear turn/brake lights.

I just took the orange reflector out of my USDM one's and it looks exactly the same...

Oh and it was free!! Hahaha.

your rear lights/reflector?

did you put it in the oven for 3 min @ 250* to do this?

Actually... in the USDM tails, there is a reflector on the corner... OH AND this is post facelift only. Not pre.

But look at the very outside edge of your usdm tails and look at the reflector. Then look at Brads jdm tails...

Not reflector.

Yeah. I just took the orange reflector out and through some amber bulbs in instead.

It's not exactly the same, though. The orange dealie you took out was partly responsible for making the correct beam pattern. You should put it back.

Hahahaha I was just thinking to myself, "That orange piece probably created a certain beam pattern, because I remember Vikash talking about this in front turn signals..."

Damn...

No. I took off the tail lights, shoved some vice grips into the corner light area and ripped out the plastic orange reflector.

Hmmm I did this on my 91 SS.
