FWD or AWD Gas Tank?

Searched and I think the drivetrain area is the most appropriate but if not, sorry.

I have a 90 FWD Sedan. It got sent to a junkyard without my consent and they emptied my gas tank the "fast" way so I need a new tank.
I know that the AWD and FWD tanks are different, but I can't think of a reason an AWD tank wouldn't fit my FWD.
It makes sence that a FWD tank wouldn't fit an AWD, because theres axles and stuff back there.

Anyone know for sure if an AWD tank would fit in my FWD?

Should, but you'll need the jet pump on the other side that keeps fuel under the fuel pump.

So if I install an AWD tank I'd have to also put a AWD fuel pump in?

Fuel pump is the same, I believe. The jet pump resides on the other side of the tank and just keeps enough fuel on the pump side of the hump. Have them give you the whole assembly with pumps. Are they paying for it? Tell them the pumps are different and you need the whole thing or something.

If you get a used AWD with the pump stuff still connected, you should be fine. The only additional thing the AWD tanks have that the FWD ones don't is a fuel separator & extra vacuum line on the tank.

You can look at the pictures & notes from my AWD swap for more info

Thank you all for your help, very much appreciated.
Will keep updating thread as I work, in fact, I don't think I've seen a Gas Tank replacement tutorial on here yet :P
