Compatability
Is there a compatibility charge for the different generations of legacys?
I found a local guy parting out a 1995 outback, i got a 1990 legacy. specifically wondering about headlights, maybe seats.

Headlights, no. But I hope you're smart enough to look at 'em and tell the difference.
Seats, probably. Might have to make a few adjustments to the rails.
Take a look around here, you'll learn plenty. Most everything from 90-94 Legacies are interchangeable.

try the seats and let us know.
I'd love to be able to get some heated seats in my car.
though my stock seats as they are, are too high with my cars sunroof. I hit my head on the ceiling

automart, snag a turbo driver's seat. They're height adjustable. If you wanna do custom rail work (not too difficult if you have a friend who can weld decently) try FC3S (late 80s rx7) seats. Highback, wicked bolsters, and they'll give you more headroom.

did the turbo come heated too?
if I find a turbo i'd be very surprised around here.
shipping seats is a very expensive proposition in my mind, so I'm hoping to find something newer that will bolt in and be lower or have some simple mods (no welding) to make lower
Dang sunroof. :X

it is to my boney butttris91ricer wrote:Legacies didn't get heated seats here in the US until recently, as far as I know.
And anything newer is pretty questionable as to whether or not it will bolt up. Is is really that cold in the windy city?
I had heated seats in an STS last winter and I LOVED them.

they've had heated seats in the legacys since 94 on certain models. i think the "outdoor" wagon or w/e its official title is has them, then outbacks with the cold weather package had them since they've offered the cold weather package

Heated seats are nice because they're near instantly hot. I don't know if the height adjustment on the turbo seat makes it any lower than stock, just higher. Doesn't seem to go any lower, at least.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
Most subaru seats will bolt in. Anything from an impreza, and the first two gens of Legacies (-99) at the least. A turbo seat's middle height adjustment range is close to an L non-adjustable from what I've heard. 02-03 Impreza seats at the lowest setting are higher than L seats. 04-07 seats (including sti), are higher than that.

Re: Compatability
I know this is a long dead forum but is the headlight, not the signal but just the headlight lamp itself interchangeable from the 1991 model and the 1993 model the pre and post face lift models. I know the signals are not because he lights and fender are completely different but can be swapped if you change the fenders.
Im trying to compare visually but its hard to tell are the angles that are against the grilles different so they wont fit??

Re: Compatability
The sheet metal is different under there too, and the pre and post facelift lights are shaped differently (the back of the headlight that sticks through the sheet metal is larger on one of the styles) . So if you took a hammer and a sawzall to the body it'll fit, but it would look terrible.
If you wanted to do it the right way, you can have the front end swapped and welded in. I had that done to my old 1992, I had a 1991 front end (the sheet metal that is welded to the frame) put on by a body guy, and then I installed the 1991 bumper beam and bumpers, fenders, grill, headlights and turn signals.
I'm sure all you're really after is the turn signal, so I'd just patiently check eBay in other countries and try to find one who will ship. I usually email the people who say they don't ship internationally, and have had a few change their mind.
