As always, 500 Super Mario Bros. points to anyone who can tell me the correct names of these cars.

Dash picture is of the blue car.

They're sitting right in front of a tattoo parlor. Just like they're pictured here.

If I had the room for them, the money for them, and the slightest clue of how to get parts for them, I'd be all over them.

I've seen ONE other of the tan car (there's a perfect-condition example in a local Honda showroom) and I've NEVER seen the blue car.

Don't know what they are called. 360/400/500 or 600 something, I would guess. depends on the size of the motor, of course.

I am pretty sure thay had 2cyl, motorcycle evolved, air cooled motors though. I've seen a few in the junkyards around here over the years. Not quite Messerschmitt small, but pretty close.

Unless your in need of a 'city car' (a-la a smart car) or your one of those peeps that have an overriding need to be 'different', I can't think of any reason to put up with one.

The gold and primer one is the N360, and the blue one is a Z600. Right??

Honda 600's IIRC.

I should get a pic of the ones here in Sacramento. There is a guy who owns a shop and has like 5 or 6 of them. 2 of them he put on some other frame and has 38" swampers under them. Very unique indeed... with that wheelbase, the tires almost touch eachother.

Now your going to make me drive to his shop to get the pix... arent you?

Yup these are the OLD Hondas named Z, N, & S 600/800, I'm not sure but I heard some of these models were chain RWD.

When I heard about the chain drive I could not help but imagine a 1000cc bike engine/6spd @ 160+WHP powering one of these....

Looking @ the pic the orange one looks FWD, maybe the RW/Chain drive talk was BS...

Bahahahaha Steve

Mike (stipro) you're close enough and you were first, so you get the points :)

They're both 600's actually, and both `72s.

Like I said, if I had the means, I'd be all over them.

Those are 10" wheels by the way

The chain drive was on the S600 and S800 roadsters...predecessor to the S2000

Later. Became the Civic (notice the name similarity). Controlled Vortex Combustion Chamber. Basically, it was a stratified charge engine, but the unavoidable high NOx emissions killed it. Stratified charge chambers work by forcing a rich air/fuel ratio close to the spark plug for ignition while the rest of the air in the chamber is highly lean. Excellent for mileage, not for lungs (ground level ozone).

These guys sell kits and turnkey cars. I love 'em, but leery of driving a tin can like that on modern roads full of soccer moms in 6000 lb SUVs

Some insane little cars with Suzuki Hayabusa drivetrains...THAT would be the ticket for those li'l old Hondas!

My mom had a Civic CVCC back in '78... not real fast, but it got incredible mileage.
