Found one just like this but in silver at a junkyard for $10 over the summer. What do you guys think of it? I am planning on doing full bodywork and paint this summer. I will have the stock trunklid w/wing painted, and this trunklid painted also. As well as the stock hood painted and a custom made RS vented hood.

Thoughts?

Thanks guys!

Looks different. I approve.

that's the stock trunk lid from a base legacy but it has the plate on it.
my old 90 legacy had the same trunk lid, but no plate there.

Ya. Flat black would be total retro muscle car. +1 (w/o plate, of course)

That is definately the trunk from a 1990 STD. There were no USDM Legacy's sold before MY90, meaning you can't have a USDM MY89 Legacy.

I was referring to the models what were made after June of 89' and brought to the U.S. They had black bumpers front and rear.

That would have been a '90 model.

The model-year changeover for most companies is in june, or so I have noticed. My '91 was built in june of '90.

That isn't a different MY it's just a trim level. There were three trims in 90, STD, L, and LS.

I kinda figured that much out, but I was pointing out the fact that it wasn't an 89.5 MY since the MY changeover is in june.

Wingless is the new wing-ed. Stealth looks always kill. Besides, do we REALLY need the downforce that the stock wing (or even aftermart bigger wing) provides?

But upon occasion stealth=shitty looks...

Guess I aint all stealth...

I think the wing adds a lot better looks to the car.

I've got lots of pictures of my car before and after I put the rear spoiler on. IMO it looks better with the rear spoiler.

I don't really think it's a question of stealthy looks. Even with the wing, Legacys don't look like a fast car. I think it really depends on the ride height in the front and rear and whether it looks "balanced" or not. I've seen some '91 SS look absolutely sick without a rear wing, but at the same time, I've seen some that don't look good at all without it. I think it all depends on the rest of the car.

Really like that color - stock or custom?

Also like the body matched trunk lid - I's leave the plate on the bumper since the hole is there...Perhaps add some badging where the plate is on this one?

T U R B O....

Would this trunk work on post-facelift vehicles?
