F/S Colin McRae Tribute Shirt and Stickers

Hey guys. After watching that video I figured I would make available some McRae tribute products on my Cafe Press.
I'll be honest, I copied the design that is all ready available, but I think I am justified as I don't make any money off of them. I'm just making them more readily available.
Again, I make no profit on these items.

So here they are:

On the shirts, I have a different design that I am working on for the back including a picture of Colin and his son Johnny. I am just having trouble perfecting it, so it will change later on.

Thanks guys!

Fantastic! I'm going to grab myself the black one (in brown) and a copy of the sticker!

I'd feel better about these if there were some part of it that could go to the charities like the others do. I do respect that you're not making anything off of these though.

Don't get me wrong though, I think they look great.

Have you cleared any of this with the head of the NASIOC forum? Since they primarily instituted this design & process, you'd be stepping on their toes with selling these.

Personally, I dig the idea of the shirts, but I just don't want to see anyone get in trouble for trying to do something nice. That's all.

I'm interested, but yeah, Nabisco's going to drop a brick if they find out...

I'll ask them about it. i dont know if you are all familiar with how cafepress works. I only creat the art work, which even for this stuff I had to change a lot because the format and sizing was way off. But...they have a set price that only they see, which covers their materials and production. The only way a shop owner such as myself makes even a penny is if we mark up the price. I considered contact either his family or their entourage and ask where to send the proceeds, but that would mean waiting to reieve a check from cafe press, cahing it and then wiring the money. I just eliminated all the changing of hands and decided to make zero profit. Although, Cafepress does make their cut from it still...

Please, if you think this is being done in bad taste, I assure you it was not my intention. If the community would feel better if I removed these items, let it be known and I will comply.

Might want to ask Nick over there for permission to replicate and about how they are getting $$ from any proceeds to foundation of the McRae family's choice.

I think you guys are getting a little too touchy over the subject of creating commemorative t-shirts, stickers, etc.

I think any tastefully designed attempt to honor the late Rally Champion's life is good enough in my book. As long as any proceeds go to the McRae family or their choice of charity organizations.

Although, I would definitely check with the original designers of the graphic you are using and maybe just send them your designs and have them produce them. That way if they chose to mark up the price and make profit to send the the McRae family, they are already in the position to do so.

I understand its the same design, thats the idea. I am acting as a nonprofit distributer. IT costs me my time so I sort of take a loss. Thanks for playing.

In other news, I sent an email to one of the Admins on NASIOC and I am awaiting response. I'll let you know how it goes.

Adam Reed wrote:Hi,
My name is Adam Reed and I am a member on bbs.legacycentral.org. After seeing a Colin McRae tribute video I decided to create some Cafepress items honoring him and his son. I then later found out that the design I used is the same that is available on NASIOC and other places. First let me state that I do not make or intend to make any profit off the items. I simply wanted to make them more readily available to those who supported him and his family. I would donate proceeds to the family but there are none, other than what Cafepress keeps, and that I have no control over.

I was asked by a few members on legacycentral.org to clear the concept with NASIOC before I continued to sell the products. So I am simply asking permission to distribute a current item for sale as well as some of my own.

I would appreciate your input on the matter asap.

Thank you,
Adam Reed

Thanks for contacting me, can you send me a link to the cafepress items so I can take a peak first.

....

Stuff looks ok… but it looks like you have some markup on the Tees. Can you confirm there is no profit on those? I have a cafepress store myself, and $18.99 sounds high.
Adam Reed wrote:The black/colored tees and the long sleeved shirts are much higher than the plain whites. If you like I can take a screen shot of the product description and price settings page. What ever you need as proof I am more than happy to supply.

Here is a direct screen shot of my product page.

The other tees on the page or marked up but have naught to do with the McRae tribute items and are 100% original.

I sent him this screen shot...if this comes up...

Thanks… sorry to make you jump hoops… it’s really not my say whether or not you sell these. But you have my approval as much as that means. J
