I've been thinking about one of these for my Legacy, did you have any problems with the stock fan clearing the Alt/ps belt?
The one I have on my Impreza was a PITA to get in & the fan had to be notched a smidge to clear to Alt belt, but it works very well...

Does anyone know if the Impreza one fits the N/A Legacy? The turbo Legacy is too tall and I'd rather not modify the car to fit it.

What are the benefits of this larger radiator over the stock radiator?

larger water capacity, which increases thermal efficiency of your cooling system. it makes it easier for your engine to run at normal operating temps. however, you don't really need an upgraded radiator unless your making quite a bit more power over stock or racing extensively.

The alloy is also nicer than stock brass as there's no electrolytic reaction.

Does it have holes so you can replace the air dam between the radiator and frame for better cooling?

holes for the airdam between rad and frame... not sure i know what you mean. But I don't think so either way.

You know, the part that is supposed to go in between the top of the radiator and the support beam. It would essentially be underneath the mounting brackets that the hood support clips into.
In your picture there is a gap. A part exists to fill that gap so air cannot escape over the radiator and through the engine bay.

I'd like a full frontal shot when you have one...
Pretty darn cool, ...note to self...I want this!

ciper - That part is only on pre-facelift models, I think.

Does anyone know if Koyo has an equivilant part that'll work for those running a turbo motor in an n/a chassis (where a turbo rad won't fit without welding in tabs)?

Isnt that always the case! Everything good is always on the prefacelift models, especially the Japan built ones (like little white dots on the heater vent controls)

I was thinking the same thing and thats why I started this thread

ciper - 'Cept headlights that let you see and turn signals that are visible from the side...

I like the older style of headlights, fog and all
You got me on the turn signals though.
For a preface lift model my preference is to make the side marker and turn signal be always on and blink off when the signal is going.

Great, yet another item to add to my ever growing parts list...

The shroud is only on 90's.

Semperguard: I think its more specific than that - the shroud might only be on the japanese built Legacys (which many of the 90s were).
From my own experience Indiana built cars are missing the part.
Koyo radiator for SS back order at mfg.

Koyo radiators for the Legacy SS are on back order at Koyo. About 3 weeks. Seems to be a little rush on them right now.

Is that direct or through a distributor?

With those prices I can see why there is a back-order.
My Impreza KOYO does a really good job of keeping things cool - too good in fact with 70mph winter cruise temps dropping down to 128-132*.
I'm ready to go ghetto & put a piece of carboard over a section of it.
