Hello all,

Dumb question. Where is the waterpump on my 93 legacy sport sedan? I am assuming it is on the lower right of the motor facing the car. I ask as I have a coolant leak that is coming down onto the catilytic converter near the front of the car and I cannot see where it is coming from/ Any ideas?

Also, how straightforward is changing the valve cover gaskets? Mine leak. Anything special like sealants? I'm assuming those are not necessary.

The water pump is under the timing covers on the front of the motor. It is to the left of the crankshaft/oil pump. \
The valve cover gaskets require...
1. drain oil
2. remove spark plug wires
3. remove bolts on valve cover
4. remove valve cover.
5. clean gasket mating surfaces
6. replace gasket
7. reverse for install.
It is so straight forward that alldata doesn't have a procedure for it.

Thanks for the reply. I figured the valve cover gaskets would be that simple.

I am bummed about the leak though. I cant see where its coming from and its driving me nuts! I'll be tearing into it tommorow. Hopefully just a leaky hose as if the water pump is to my left facing the motor then its not coming from that. Right?

My advice would be to first replace the upper radiator hose. The water pump is where the lower radiator hose attaches.
