Trying to shift a stiffy...

Not a loosey....
My shifter sucks. Besides being too long, it's floppy, notchy, and overall just too lose.
I've priced out groupN tranny, engine and pitch stopper... that with cobb shifter bushings = about $260
I've read about a spring you can replace to stiffen things up a bit, and I'm gonna use a double adj. SS to fix the height problem.
I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to tighten things up a bit. also some input on the bushings, and exactly what effects I should plan to see.
BTW I searched for awhile at work, but couldnt seem to come across any of the threads I remember seeing before.
Thanks
-Adam

Are you planning on keeping the older shifter design, or upgrading to the newer one?

There's slight differences in the joint that attaches the linkage to the transmission shift rod. That's the main thing.

I've tried shifting a stiffy. It doesn't matter what you do with it, the whole class is still gonna know if the teacher calls on you. Let me know if 8th grade went any better for you. . .
