i have a svx and its sitting around and its killing me.

should i stick the h6 3.3l 250whp in my legacy turbo i just got?

why waist time with intercoolers and turbos and so on and so on, when i can stick a h6 in......... bonus there is more room for a factory rad up front with fans not like some of these guys with svx h6 in there imprezas.

bad or good???? you tell me do it or forget about it lol???

That would be very, very cool. You can probably do it without maiming the factory harness too much, so going back to the H4 wouldn't be very difficult.

The SVX is 230HP.

Replace the rear seat with it and keep the turbo engine up front using two fwd transmissions with the same ratio. For cruising, you can leave one in neutral with the engine off to save gas, but run them both when you want to kill something. Or you can put a smaller engine in back attached to a big fan facing the ground, build some rubber skirting for the underneath of the car and use the second engine to suck the car to the ground like the Chaparral 2J. Watch for loose manhole covers.

You come up with the most outlandish ideas evolutionmovement. I like.

It's not my idea - Chaparral did it around 1970 and Group C cars used them in the '80's. I remember a car getting ripped apart (can't remember if the driver made it) by a loose manhole cover that got sucked into the bottom (they used to use a lot of street courses). Chaparral was awesome - they were a small team that used ingenuity to take on and beat the big guys. Much of their innovations revolved around aerodynamics, but they were also innovators in monocoque construction and the use of automatics. The 2J looked like a doorstop and used a set of snow mobile engines to run the sucker fan. It was banned after intermittent success due to a lack of development, but could outcorner anything without the drag penalty of wings.

Check out this month's Grassroots Motorsport for a "Cheaparell" Corvette. Won the $2007 build contest and races...

I think you should do the swap. How cool would that be! and you're doing it and not me <grin>
