well i whent shopping today and i found some crazy stuff for my DD/ winter car/ not so mod/ waitting for parts on other build/ i am just so bored build car lol.
Image

well this is what i got going on, just cleaned up a spare ej22t got all i need to rebuild it..... new rings new bearings and a couple other new things.
Image

well this is what i picked up, the guy had it sitting around for ever and it came off a car that was smashed and he saved this and the power steering pump, alt, ac, intercooler, coilpack. 300bucks for it all he says!! (now i was going to jump for joy but i didnt becuse prices can jump up in th blink of a eye around these guys)
Image
why this intake manifold? becuse it uses a coil pack and has the turbo pipe under it.... plus it came with everything.... and will work with my legacy ecu.

so after the jdm wreckers i hit up four star motorsports to see what they have.... would you belive it they have a set of dohc turbo heads catching dust!! i think they are ej20g. they even come with new coils for spark and everything only has like 50,000kms. he says today is your lucky day 400bucks!!

Image

i could not belive what a day i had wow i got everything to build a simple ej22t dohc vf34 legacy turbo.

Lucky.

I wish I could find a set of DOHC heads for a reasonable price.

That intake manifold is just icing on the cake, so you don't have to run a 90 degree inlet turbo.

^ i think i can find you a set if you want. your right about the intake manifold its going to be very easy set up now.

would someone happen to know if ej20g heads are better then ej20k heads?? it looks like the valves on the ej20g are bigger? i dont have my ej20k heads becuse there at the machine shop.

What's a set of DOHC Legacy Ej20G heads worth to you? With or without manifold?

That would be awesome, but I'm kinda strapped for cash lately. I would still appreciate it if you could keep an eye out for me.

At our shop, business drops off for the winter and picks up significantly for the summer.

^^^ +1 :).

Just out of curiousity and not meant to offend, what do you do for a living Nico that affords you all this money and free time to continually play with Subarus?

Looking forward to seeing all this going into a build though. Keep it up :).

all right!!! 3 espressos 2 prosciutto paninos 1 plate of pasta and the block is ready to go.

the scrap yard block is clean and i mean clean, it took me all fucking day cleaning the pistons the "italian father way" shit i am so tired.
Image

this time around i did the ej20k manifold perfect to take the ej22t TB it is perfect now!! 2nd time around and i got it down. it still sits upside down but you need it becuse of the TB sensor and you want the car to run smooth like butter.

tommorow the heads go on, with everything else and we good to go.

is the 20k manifold same as the 20g?

Posted: Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:43 am
by NICO
nope the ej20k uses a coil pack like the ej22t, and it has the turbo pipe under the intake.

i use the ej20k one so the ej22t ecu can be used with all its factory sensors and coil pack.

^^ LOL

well i got the motor done ready to go in.

ej22t block, ej20g heads, ej20k manifold, dc sports headers, vf34 turbo, 440cc injectors.

intercooler?? i still dont know what i am going to put in it, tmic or fmic ??? i have a extra fmic i made, so i might put that in. but i want to keep it quick out the hole, so maybe tmic.
