I thought this was an interesting way to do it....this is more appealing to me as Im not very comfortable with the idea of wiring up LED's.

What do you guys think? When it warms up here I may give it a go.

Yeah. That's basically what I did.

I removed my cluster and then used rubbing alcohol to remove the paint behind the gauges. Then I colored the back side of the gauges with a blue sharpie. Then I replaced the dash light bulbs (which were white with green condoms) with blue bulbs.

Now my gauges are blue and the needles are still orange. It looks awesome. I'll take some pictures later...

Cool, thanks. Where did you pick up the bulbs?

-Aaron, show that mod to Jeff when you see him! That would probably go pretty sweet on my car, too!

I hate SL-i, and it's funny, cuz I got banned from there for arguing with them about how dangerous blue was in the gauges, and now I see in a few posts on that thread that some members finally have seen the light!

Hahaha ok. Will do, Tristan.

I still need to give him a call, I've been busy working/sleeping. Haha.

It does sound a bit sensitive but still a great alternative to me hamfisting led's and resistors into the cluster.

Lol it really wasn't hard at all.

I just pulled out the gauge cluster and removed the screws holding the gauges in and colored the backs of the gauges. Then replaced the bulbs with blue bulbs and put everything back together. It took me no more than 40 minutes.
