Subaru AWIC, Cobra heat exchanger, and a pump for $180.

Sounds pretty good for the $$. I have no affiliation, just passing it along....

I just got one, installed it on my wagon. Awesome intercooler!!!

I was running a WRX 02 air to air, and I can feel a difference.

Where did you get your awic? I would love to have one. I have the numbers to some jdm places that I copied down the other day and need to call. I'm hoping they can help.

Yeah, if you have the Cobra heat exchanger I'd love to see how it goes in?

Wait, you've got a Subaru one? Nevermind. The post is for some mustang stuff if i'm not mistaken...

I got mine from a buddy, he got it on eBay. I'm just running the subaru JDM ic, with a heater core off a ford truck.

The post is for a subaru intercooler (removes heat from the air charge), and a ford heat exchanger (removes heat from the water) from what I could tell.

Technically both pieces are heat exchangers, so it gets confusing.

I saw the same set-up for sale on rs25 along with a turbo kit, but both set-ups are listed as sold.

What colour is the core? The black one is the standard one found on the Legacy GT/RS/RS-R and the gold one is found on the Legacy RS-RA. It also has an STi sticker on it. It's bigger than the black core too.

I thought the Black was on the RS' (the 220hp 5spd manual)... The gold was the RS-RA... And the Legacy GT (200hp with a 4eat) was silver?

You are correct with the RS and the RS-RA, but the GT (both auto and manual) has a black core, not silver. To my knowledge, there is no silver coloured core.

Interestimg. Guy at work had a GT sedan, and the core was painted black.

Silver = early years
Black = later years.

Not sure of the changeover year, but I would guess about '91.

RS-RAs had a gold intercooler.

Okay, I stand corrected. I was hunting online for an RS-RA core and found 3 for sale that are silver coloured.

So I've come to this conclusion:
GT wagon manual/auto=black
GT sedan auto=silver
RS sedan manual=black
RS-RA sedan manual=gold

I'll ask around and see if the silver paint signifies anything or if it's just aesthetic. I'm betting it's just aesthetic since the GT sedans run the same engines as the GT wagons.
