I just got around to installing all of my polyurethane bushings from Superpro. I figured after sitting there for over a year, I should probably put them in.
I say all, but I really mean all except 2. I can't seem to get the A-arm front bushings out of the arm. It's just such an awkward shape that I can't seem to get it to work in our press, and the balljoint press isn't strong enough to get it out.
I also changed out the old style rear lateral links with a droplink style swaybar endlink (only made for '90 and '91) to a set of traditional Subaru-style rears with Noltec alloy C-style endlinks (to match my Noltec front endlinks).
The rear A-arm bushings are offset, so I get the advantages of an ALK, but with twice as much work.
It feels so freaking nice and connected. Overall, it was really worth it.

If you take the entire a-arm off, you should be able to get those bushings out. I ended up destroying the old ones when I got them out......it involved a sawzall.

I burned mine out, then took a sawzall and cut the race out from the arm. Be sure your new bushing need the race removed, and DON"T remove it if they don't. I installed Noltecs which have their own outer race, so mine had to be removed. The burning out method took about 15 minutes and then I was ready to install the new bushings in both arms! It's quick, but stinky, and wear thick gloves, hot rubber burns and you can't wipe it off!

I may give that a shot.
The superpros require the race removed, but don't have a race of their own.
I had the whole arm off, but just couldn't fit it in the press at any good angle.
It was running kinda late, and I didn't have a torch at the shop, so I just said 'screw it' for now. I'll probably burn it out and air chisel the race out.
Also while under there, I set my adjustable Whiteline rear swaybar to its stiffest setting, and DAMN, my car is so close to neutral now. Feels SO freaking nice.

so if we replace the existing sway bar with aftermarket from 93-01 impreza aftermarket swaybar, we can go with the C-style endlinks?
thanks in advance.

For that style swaybar, you will have to 'clearance' (bash with a hammer) part of the spare tire tub.
You could also go with an aftermarket swaybar for the '92-'94 Legacy, since only the '91s got stuck with the droplink style connection.
To run the C-style endlinks, you need a compatible swaybar, rear lateral links from a model that had the C-style endlinks, the endlinks themselves, and all the associated hardware (I ran across the street to Home Depot and picked up some Grade 8 3/8" bolts for the links, since they didn't have any high grade metric bolts).
If you pick up the swaybars intended for the '91 LT from whiteline, they come with the droplink style endlinks and are compatible with the C-style endlinks for when and if you decide to upgrade (that's what I did). Heck, I could probably even sell you the ones that came with my bar since I don't need them anymore......

Honestly, I am all about making things as cross compatible with other models as possible. I intend to 'clearance' my spare tire tub so I can run Impreza bars in the future (since you can get them in larger sizes and they come up quite often used).

let me know how that goes, I like to make this "C-C" as well, but I like running a full size spare.

It wouldn't affect the spare tire tub size, but the support on the bottom of the tub.
