Remove catalytic converter, and resonator, and put on a much smaller muffler.

That is about all you can do short of cutting everything off of your exhaust.

Oh and since it's an L (non-turbo) you have equal length headers. So I'd recommend going on ebay and searching for some cheap unequal length headers for a NA car.

It'll give you that nice subie rumble.

resonator under the hood? one that connect to solenoid?

are we talking of the same resonator?

No, completely different resonator. The stock exhaust does not have a resonator. Some aftermarket exhausts have resonators to help quiet the exhaust noise.

The resonator is the section slightly larger then the piping in this picture.

I can't recommend them due to the cost and the fitment issues I had. They're nice pieces, but there seems to be variability in their welding process.
