Yesterday at work we got this reminder of how important safety is when working on cars. Thankfully the tech that was under the truck got out before it fell.

Wouldn't want to have to make that phone call..."Ummm, Mr Jones, about your truck..."

actually the arm that failed, failed because the safety bolt that is suppose to stop the arm from over extending and falling out was missing.

SUPRA TURB0!

That sucks, getting a car on the lifts can become such a routine you get used to it and fail to notice stuff. I didn't notice those safety bolts until I tried to extend an arm extra far because I didn't have the car centered in the bay and got a loud CLANG.

well, actually the tech was one of our lube techs that has only used 4 post lifts since he started. because it was saturday the lube team was slammed and the lube tech had to use a 2 post for the first time.

That is one of the main reasons I hate working on Ford trucks. On all of our lifts at work, they are a pain to lift and always close when you do lift them right.
