Okay, so I pulled the harness and headunit out of my rolled car and plugged it all into the new car...

Well, the radio started to work, then I shut it off, and put everything into the dash, screwed everythin in and what? Oh it dont work... Dammit....

So then I re-wired everything... Still nothing, at all.

I rechecked everything, no probs, all good.

So I tried a friends stereo out of an gen2 legacy... It worked, 'cept it was only a cassette and hardly an upgrade. So then I tried my other friends 06 STi stereo... Nothing

For some reason the 6 disc changers wont work and its really friggin annoying... Not to mention I drive at least 50 miles a day... without anythin but the turbo sound and exhaust... Which gives me worse mileage...

Any ideas? Did I just try 2 bad 6 disc headunits?

That's odd; mine works perfectly fine. I had an 05 changer and now I have one out of an 02.

Hmmm. Seems unlikely that neither of them would work.

Are you sure you have it wired up properly?
Are you sure that you power wire is hooked up to a true 12v source? Ground?

Lol just trying to list some things that I would check. That's very odd...

Fuse! Check the fuse!

And I say get the wiring diagram for both sides of the raw wires and wire it manually. Mine is done that way, and the only thing that doesn't function is the illim/dim on like, the top half of the buttons or something. . . Haha, in fact, it's actually still not even bolted/screwed in. . . It's just been chillin in the slot for the last year or so. .

Good luck!

To get the dimmer to work get a David Carter reverse harness, which has both dimmer wires. Then you need to pop out the ground or power antenna wire from the Legacy harness and put it in the empty spot where the other dimmer wire should be. If you move the ground wire you obviously have to connect a new ground straight to the reverse harness.

I cut up the old harness and hard wired it....

Anyways, I checked the fuse, and it was blown, so I replaced it... It still didnt work, and I checked it again and it was fine... But still it isnt working...

Okie... Soooo... I went out today and did some work on the car...

In addition to swappin the interior from my 93 into my 92...

I worked on the stereo some more...

And couldnt figure it out... oh but I did...

I checked all the fuses in the cabin box... There were a few other blown fuses... I mean WTF??

But anyways... Nothing did the trick....

So then I went to the main fuse box under the hood...

There were like 3 more fuses that were blown... And i figured out why my ABS light was on... Some mo-fugger removed the main ABS fuse... WTFx100000?????

So yea... What do I hear when I replace the dome light fuse??? Oh, I dunno... I hear a 6 disc getting power...

So FYI everyone... The 12v+ Constant is controlled by the same fuse as the overhead cabin light... I was trying to figure out why the heck the dome light didnt work and then discovered that fuse... and then the stereo started to work... YAY

Someone really did a number on this car... I found about 5 blown fuses today...

But thankfully the stereo now works!
