something in the front of my car is making a really annoying whining noise that gets higher pitched and louder as wheel speed increases, in any gear, but when i take my foot off the gas it goes away right away. also doesnt make the noise when using engine braking and isnt really noticable under 15-20 mph atleast from inside the car. i'm pretty sure it's my front differential but a few people i talked to suggested a cracked flex plate. i've been driving on it for the past week with my stereo off listening to it sweating my ass off hoping nothing blows up spectacularly like my rear diff....

any ideas or really cheap 4eat's?

Probably the front pinion bearing. It's a pretty cheap fix if you have the tool for it. If you take it some place that has the tool for it, it will be spensive.
