Passenger side electric mirror problem

Post by starkiller »

well, here's hoping you guys and gals can help me with this problem as well as you did my last one :) my passenger side electric mirror will not ratchet far enough out so i can see what's in that next lane. with it as far out as possible i can see the side of my car but that's it. the mirror does that clunk clunk thing when its gone as far as it can too. the mirror on my side is fine. i had a 91 leg sedan some years back and don't remember this being a problem.

ideas?

Dumb question, but is the mirror body itself positioned properly? Maybe it's not folded out all the way?

I dunno then. Can you push it further out by hand? You could always just try disassembling it to see what you find. There could be something caught in the assembly, or maybe a gear is broken or something.

The easiest thing to do may be to just post in the Parts Shed forum asking if anybody has a spare mirror they'd sell you.
