I'm tracking my EJ20G 4EAT SS in the next week or so & was wondering what you guys think it will run on the 1/4 mile.

Power wise it has

- Ported airbox (4" inlet) / K&N filter / c-cup
- FMIC (31x12x3)
- EJ20G / TD04 (on SS ECU running 14-15psi)
- Walbro 255HPHV fuel pump
- 3" TBE (home-made)
- tranny oil cooler
- Diamond coil pack
- Magnacore Wires
- Alky Inj (that has been acting up lately)
- Full stock weight + (FMIC, stress bars upper/lower, & '04 leather interior).
- stock rims/tires (195/60-15)

It also has

- AGX's
- RS springs
- Ebay Upper Stress bars
- Cusco 4pt Lower stress bar
- '98 LGT front calipers/hawk pads

that number sounds pretty reasonable to me. Is Englishtown open already?

Englishtown, Atco, & Island Dragways all open on March 1st.

I may go on Sat. with some Honda friends or next Wed/Fri for a Test & tune night.

Track-Day has been delayed for me :(

I got a Alky controller today & it was bad.
To install the controller I had to remove my pressure switch / relay trigger set-up so the car is alky-less until the new controller arrives next week.

Once the new controller arrives I'll hit the track.

Keep the time estimates coming!!

I ran 15.7 @ 85, bone stock in my auto (besides the 45* airbox + coffee mod). That is at Lebanon Valley Dragway (~Albany, NY). I would say that with those psi and opened intake and exhaust, it'll be close to that initial number stated. Hopefully you get that issue worked out and hit the strip soon.

I clicked off a 14.8 at 12 psi once...and I was shifting it pretty easily...

At 20 psi I'm pretty sure it's faster (I have heard it pulls like an STi?!?)

Hold the phones...

Youre running 20psi? On stock heads... an AWIC... a perfect power... What for injectors?

What else have you done?

i know you have a vf-8... but damn...

Stock...

I have a set of 440s that I need to re-ring...

20psi is too much for 370s...my AFRs are fine, but I am pretty sure they are running 100% duty from about 15psi on up.

Yeah...that's on a stock 216,000 mile EJ22T too :D

Wow... thats interesting...

Your car has about 700 miles more than mine...

These cars engines are like the energizer bunnies!

I'll throw my $.02 in on the deal and say 14.7sec.

The slowest prediction so far has been from someone local - he says the car can't break into the 15's.

Yeah. With a good tune and supporting mods, these cars can easily and safely run ~17 psi daily.

yeah dude, thats total bullshit...

Andy (92ss satinsvoice) hit 14.99 @ 91mph

with 15lbs of boost on the stock vf-11 and a front mount... Other than that totally stock... Not even an exhaust.

You guys are right he knows nothing about these cars @ all (which is why I like these cars!!!).

He said our welfare race car would not make it out of the 11's - we were stuck @ 11.31 for a little while, no matter what would I'd do it would run 11.30s just increase MPH to almost 130 which is 10's easy.

Then we changed the final drive -
1st track day = 10.40 @ 124ish MPH
2nd track day = 09.97 @ 133ish MPH

He had to eat his words....

Looks like I would not have been able to hit the track this Sat anyway as its supposed to snow Fri-Sat over here....

give me some more estimated times.

I'm a bit confused...

I just got into the EJ series engines recently and I hear numbers in the 15's and 14 with mods. I thought I would easily be in the 13's with a few easy mods. maybe not...

I was running 14.2 with the old school EA stuff on the stock long blocks, turbos and cams. Are the EA cars that much lighter than the EJ stuff? If so, maybe I'm better off going back to the EA chassis but use the EJ power plant. ???

Yup. A Loyale wagon of the same year as my Legacy Touring Wagon is about 800lbs lighter.

But the BC/BJ Legacys are soooooo much sexier!

An EA81 car would be even better, but a lot of work and chassis bracing. I'd love to throw one of those new diesels into a 1984 coupe and run it rwd. That would be a good 1000 lbs. lighter, even with the diesel (which is apparently only 44 lbs. heavier than an EJ25).

I still want to do a 1977 coupe with an ej257!

You'd be about low 14's with just an ECU. Throw on 3" exhaust and/or a slightly larger turbo and you should be in 13's all day.

Turbo + injectors + fuel pump and you would easily be looking at 12's and lower.

No one ever takes care of engine management. Which is the first thing you do on any of WRX's... it's just easier for them.
