So I pulled the ecu codes the other day and found that I had a code 32 oxygen sensor trouble code. I went by autozone and they quoted me $98.00 for a new o2 sensor, but I'm a broke college student and I wanted to do it on the cheap. I got a single wire universal sensor for $16.00 and was proud of my frugality . I spliced it into the old sensor's connector with the white lead wire going to the boshe's black lead wire and leaving the red and black heating element wires disconnected. Now my car won't even idle. The idle is either really low or it just completely craps out. Any information the gurru's could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you undo any of the intake plumbing in the process of swapping the oxygen sensor?

I did just install a saab intercooler and had to re-install the snorkus thing (coffee cup broke). Is this more of an intake issue? I thought I had checked all my connections. I had a small cold idle issue yesterday and this morning, but once it warmed up it was good to go. Since the o2 sensor this afternoon it dies every time I let off the gas.

Please be clear -- did you do the intercooler install and resonator replacement at the same time as replacing the oxygen sensor?

Cuz your description just sounds like what would happen if there was a leak in the intake, so I thought you might have forgotten to reattach some hose or something.

If you're concerned it's the sensor, just unplug the sensor, reset the ECU, and see if the car runs okay again.

I actually did the intercooler and resonator replacement yesterday and the o2 sensor today. It's possible that a hose slipped off in the process of replacing the sensor. I'll check it all in the morning and see what's up. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, if you were working around the intake something could have fallen off.

Like a Vacuum line maybe? There are soo many...

Okay so I checked the intake and all the vacuum lines and everything is connected. I also disconnected the o2 sensor and reset the ecu...nothing. It just cant seem to idle. I'm at a loss.

I still think it has to do with the intercooler installation. A leak in the intercooler maybe? How did you do the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler, and how did you do the blowoff valve? Any chance you could snap a picture or two?

You could always just try and uninstall the IC...

That would tell you if it was that.

Hm. Looks pretty. I dunno... have you pressure tested the intercooler?

Yeah I agree with Vikash. Just do a boost leak test on the entire setup.

Okay so I definitely need to go get my eyes checked because I found the problem. The line running from the intake resonator to the intake mani near the throttle body had a kink in it. Undo the kink, problem solved. Man I should be wearing a helmet.

Hehehe... That's the IAC hose.
