Hi there,
I'm Onno from Holland and I have a Subaru Legacy 2.0 AWD MY94 since last saturday!
I used to own a Subaru Impreza MY97 1.6 GL and I swapped it for the Legacy!!!

Nice!
So do those come stock with the USDM Legacy SS rims?
And is that aftermarket wood trim I see?!

No de rims came off a Legacy Turbo, the wood trim is a cheap aftermarket sticker, pieces are falling off.
I had the strutbar from my Impreza, it also has Legacy Turbo brakes at the front. Now searching for springs, dampers, and gold
16inch Subaru wheels or some "rally" speedline rims.
In August this year a EJ20D 150BHP engine will be fitted !!
------------
I also hear a rattle when i speed up in a left corner. When i make a turn right or when i coast at the same speed and make a turn left i can't hear it.
I think it has something to do with the driveshaft connection to the wheel at the left front.

Welcome.
How do you like it compared to the impreza?

It's hard to compare: the legacy has 4WD, the Impreza FWD.
The Impreza had Eibach Springs, strutbars, 16 inch low profile tires.
And it had 200 KG less weight. The handling was superb!!! Enormous cornering speeds was possible with a superb balance.
It proved itself to me on the Nurburgring.
-----------
The Legacy has standard springs and 15 inch wheels with large tires. I do feel the 4WD in the way that it doesn't spin(spin out),
But when i'm ready with some suspension changes and wheels/tires, then I can do some comparising.
Best Regards,
Onno

The 1.6L in the Impreza..... is that an EJ-series? How much power did it make?
Looks nice. From a distance, that wood trim looks pretty sexy. Although if it's peeling I'd just pull it off....

Hey Onno, Welcome to this forum!
Got to see your car IRL soon
The 1.6 Impreza engine is a EJ engine, deliveres 90bhp. Onno swapped it voor a EJ20D, but that didn't work out very well.

What kind of exhaust is that ?
Do the Impreza dampers and springs fit ?

they should.
everything was pretty much the same up til then.

I wil have to use the Legacy springs on the Impreza damper at the rear, otherwise the car will lean on the rear axle. The Legacy spring is a bit wider than the Impreza spring but it should fit on the lower spring disk. Ik will use the upper disk from the Legacy because it's a loose part.
At the front I can change the whole leg from the Impreza.
This is also an easy and fine upgrade because the weight of the Impreza GTT is the same as an AWD Legacy. The parts are calculated for the weight so that's superb!!

I recently bought 2nd hand shocks with springs from an Impreza GTT because they looked in an excellent shape and they were cheap. The seller allready sold his Subaru (for an Alfa 147 GTA) and had these in his shed for a while,
The last two saturday's I replaced the Legacy shocks for the Impreza GTT schocks. At the front I used the GTT springs, and at the rear the Legacy springs otherwise the car would lean back !!
Since the Legacy back schocks were empty/worn outm this feld like a gift from god. The Legacy handles much better (of course) with lots of ride comfort but in corners it's perfect. Much stiffer than it was..
I'm happy !!!

Isn't a 147GTA a step down from an Impreza GTT?

The Alfa's certainly better looking at least.

Thanks,

I know i'm blessed!!
I'm going to the Ring in two weeks with a couple of friends.
We are staying on a camping 15km from the ring where a lot of dutch Nurburgring fans stay.
I hope the wether is nice like last time (2007) 39 degrees celcius.
The smell off overheated exhausts/brakes and burned rubber ruled !!!!!
This was my Impreza in 2007:

----------------------
But first I have to change a front drive shaft protection rubber ????
I don't know what it's called, but it's a lot of work.
Last weekend, i got a new starter motor and new brake discs at the front. Allready costs inuff money....

I wouldn't use that translation program too much,,
Sooner or later everything will be replaced and than the car runs as new !!!
Last sunday my Coolant temp sensor broke down, de car ran with check engine on all the time. It was easy to replace and the sensor was 25 dollars. I also fitted an original Impreza Nardi steering wheel. I still have to find out how i can use the Cruise Control with a Nardi steering wheel but it doesn't fittable !
Best regards Onno
