With the new JDM 17s

I prefer stock rims and RS rims. Nice clean car though. What numbers does the car make stock? The black rims would look nicer in gold or gun metal though IMO.

Wow... very nice! I like the new JDM 17"ers... They look really good!

Nice, very nice. They really do a lot to spiff things up and match the body style a lot more than either the RS's or the WRK's.

Bone stock, the car put down 136/147tq
Now it puts down about 210/240.
The 5 spokes are not black. They are a dark gun metal color. ( the center caps are black for comparison)
Depending on the light, they can look black or a very dark grey.

So hard to find a cheap set of those '01 RS rims. -_-

Those dark anthracite 5 spokes are by far the sexiest. The 17s look good too, but I'm just one of those wierdos that's partial to higher profile tires

Nice! Been waiting to see those on!!
What tires did you get and what size? Have you noticed any difference in handling/ride on the 17s?
And you got a new tint too? What percent did you end up choosing?

Ok, went with BFG G force sport, as I wanted a mid grade summer tire with good rain performance. 205/50/17 as to get the 215, i would have to roll the fenders, and I did not want to go that far yet.
The tint is the Wa State 35% max that you can do in front.
As for mods, well, this will be the short list:
KYB AGX+ H&R springs ( lowers .75 inch)
STI FSTB, Cusco RSTB, Cusco Lower arm bar
Whiteline 24/22/20 Rear Sway bar
Subaru 4/2 pot brake set-up with stainless lines and powerslot slotted front rotors
Bosal 3 inch downpipe with full 3 inch exhaust.
Deadbolt super 16G, 06 WRX intercooler ( going FMIC this summer) K&N pod filter, Autometer oil temp, press, volt, egt and boost

Those are good tires, usually at a good price. I like it. Can't wait to see how it looks in person.

The 5 spokes are what the studded snow tires are sitting on.
I MAY ( key here is on the MAY part) in the next month have for sale :
Another set of the JDM 17's in the standard subaru silver ( mine are a bronze/grey mix)
and a set of the 6 spokes.

VULTURES!
lol jk
So, dscooby, you rub with 215s???
I was squelin tires at PIR on their opening day and no rubbin for me... On 215/45/r17s... They are RE92s
Anyone here have experience with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s?
I know there probably spendy, but I'd imagine they would do pretty good for the summers in the NW

Our RS has the 215/45/17's but with the 55 offset of the 17's, I know they will rub.
Hell ask Jake, he saw me smoking my 205's on the hard curves last year at WCSS.
I might still have to roll the fenders.
With the right suspension/wheels/tires, you can fit 215's.
But on my set-up that is not going to happen.

Doesn't Jake routinely run 225's? But I think he only drives in a straight line...

Yeah I'm very happy with the GS-D3's. I'm on my second set. They handle well in the dry. There may be better tires for the dry, but in the wet was where I was really impressed with them. So overall a very good tire, especially for the PNW
