Hey guys,
Just wondering what your opinions were for the stock Legacy Turbo up-pipe vs an aftermarket stainless one?
Aren't ours almost exactly the same as a STi up-pipe? What benefits/ gains would you expect from an aftermarket one?
Thanks!

Probably nothing since ours are catless. You MIGHT get a little bit quicker spool if the aftermarket is smaller diameter but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The free up-pipe I got is definetely larger in diameter, and has a flex joint which is kind of nice.
Anyone else?

The STi & Legacy SS up-pipes look the same to me.
If the aftermarket U/P is bigger in diameter than the OEM one I'd think spool may slow down (less Exhaust gas velocity), but top end should be better (less backpressure).

The STi & Legacy SS up-pipes are exactly identical.
It's been posted before, but I confirmed this when I bought an STi up-pipe from a local guy when my old SS up-pipe had a crack in the flex part.

These guys are right on Devan...
The only real reason to replace the up-pipe is due to age and use...but if that is the case, just grab an STi one...
Small up-pipe diameter is good...it means you get a greater exhaust velocity to the turbo = faster spooling =
So I'd say sell that up-pipe to someone that likes shiny things and then take the $$ and get yourself some steering rack bushings and a nice dinner!
