GTB Twin Turbo

I'm about to pick up a Legacy GTB twin turbo formy next project car. The engines blown and I intend to rebuild the engine to a decent spec (probably 2.5 STI).
I've tuned plenty of impreza engines but never seen a twin turbo setup and have to admit I know nothing about how the twin turbos are they controlled?
Anyway I just wanted to know wether it's worth keeping the twin turbo layout? Maybe it could be modified to have two bigger turbos? Say a TD04 to start with then a TD05/20G
