This is great! I used to be a photographer for the Idaho Press-Tribune. I ran all over Canyon and Ada County in my 2000 2.5RS. Looking at all your photos, I'm like "I know all those places!" Amazing car, wish I was still in the area to check it out in person.

Update! Grimmspeed 44mm EWG up pipe, Turbosmart 45mm hypergate, Grimmspeed IWG block off bracket, and KS Tech TGV deletes! Can't wait to get these on!

Thank you! It has been a lot of work and alot of learning, but it is all worth it!

Sound deadening time! This product is called Hushmat (similar to dynamat) Overall I added about 20 lbs of sound deadener but it was well worth it! No more rattles or exhaust drone!

Step 1 prep surface with degreaser or brake clean


Step 2 apply!


And apply some more!


Then put it all back together!


Overall i am very happy with this setup! Tools required to apply: trauma sheers (utility scissors) and a good rolling tool

Eventually I may pull of the panels and put some in there. To be honest, after doing just this amount there is a really nice difference. Of course, I ran without any deadening for almost 2 years lol.

I felt like changing the engine bay up a little bit!

I wanted to go for a more subtle theme, so I removed the rad shroud, and almost every yellow cap in the engine bay



Then gave this stuff a shot!

05 Brembo rear calipers, godspeed uk brackets, godspeed uk brake shoes. 04 STi rear rotors, Hawk pads, ATE Superblue, and a Grimmspeed master cylinder brace! I am testing this for Grimmspeed to ensure fitment on first gen legacies! Thanks again Grimmspeed!

How much did the pads run you? Years only? How much for the caliper adapters?

I got both sets of pads new for about $120. The caliper adapters were roughly $100 plus the shoes.

Ceramic Coated Grimmspeed crossover pipe!!

More updates!

I had some thermotec header wrap laying around so I decided to wrap the crossover pipe!



Then coated the header wrap with this:



Here is the finished product



And I decided to do the up pipe and dump tube as well

I will warn you that stuff you sprayed on there smells for weeks. It's a terrible burnt chemical smell and since our cars do not have the HVAC that most cars have where you are able to close the vent to the outside and recirculate the cabin air you get to smell it the whole time and especially when you are stopped. I'll never use it again. Didn't even work that well.

Also Grimmspeed's ceramic coating sucks compared to the place that does it up here called performance coatings. I had them coat my turbo hot side and it looks like the thinnest coating ever. It's already rusting away with only 5K on the turbo. Meanwhile the downpipe which was done by performance coatings up in Auburn, WA looks great and made a huge difference in temp. You can actually feel the massive amount of heat coming off the midpipe and the downpipe is barely emitting anything. Grimmspeed's coating just looks like they used a rattle can to do it.

On the plus side, it all looks nice.

Thanks for the insight Kimo! I've used both of these products in the past with really good results. The smell is a downfall, however there are very little options to chose from when protecting aftermarket exhaust pipes from heating your engine bay. I appreciate the input ont he ceramic coating, I look forward to seeiong if we have similar results!
