boost leak?

i just put my intercooler in and lately i've been hearing a very loud "air" noise that sounds almost like the BPV when im on half throttle with about 5-8 psi of boost. when i floor it and go to 10 psi the sound goes away almost completely when i let go of the throttle i hear the louder woosh of the BPV. is this a boost leak or could the intercooler just cause the intake to be louder and all i'm hearing is the air going in the engine? i also did the snorkus mod after the intercooler but i was hearing the air noise before i did it.

i accidentally cracked my bypass valve on the nipple that hooks up to to the intercooler. the crack is tiny and is almost completely covered by the hose. can a crack this small cause a boost leak that audible?

thanks

probably, in addition to that make sure EVERYTHING is tightened down alot. you used T-Bolt clamps on the hoses right?

The higher the boost, the more you lose, and so even small leaks loose ALOT of boost.

i'm going to replace the bpv anyways because no good can come from a crack right? i just didnt think a crack that size could cause a leak that noticeable.
as for the clamps i'm actually still using the rad hose style (new ones) because no one around where i live sells the t-bolt style and i didnt think it would matter that much since i only upped the boost a bit.
i guess i'll look into ordering some although the shipping will probably be more than the clamps themselves!
thanks

It's the equivalent of a blow off valve that vents the air back to the intake before the turbo.
