Stainless Steel Brakelines.

Went to my local auto parts sells stuff place today. Ordered new rotors, semi sport break pads, etc today, inquired about Stainless steel Brake lines (I HATE squishy brake petals). Guy behind the counter thumbed back and forth in a catalog for a while then told me he could only get them for WRXs and the like.
1) is there someplace that makes SS brakelines for our cars at a reasonable price
2) are breaklines interchangable from Impreza/WRX/STI to our cars?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure what a reasonable price is but TireRack.com has a set of Goodridge lines for $115. You can probably get cheaper ones though.

$115 isn't bad. Ive just seen some pretty ludicrous prices for older car parts, Particularly "Custom built" pieces. Hoses and cables and such. Not interested in paying $200 + for a firmer break petal if you get my drift
Thanks for the info!

One mod I've always been intrigued by is the master cylinder brace. I guess the idea being by bracing the master cylinder to the firewall the master cylinder won't flex under load giving a less "sloppy" pedal feel. I guess for our cars it would have to be a custom job but I know Cusco makes one for the WRX/STi.
Good luck with the quest for better brake pedal feel!

You should try changing the brake fluid. Made a huge difference for my car as well as new pads and discs I am sure contributed to amazing braking.

I think I paid $95 for goodridge lines at teagues (boxer4racing.com). That was a couple years ago. You can still find that price if you look around. And yes, I believe they are the same as a WRX.

The MC braces from other subarus will work on our cars.
There's one that bolts to the frame rail vs the strut tower wall. I'd suggest the one that bolts to the frame rail.

sweet! lots of good information! thanks guys!
Brake fluid is probably a good idea. no clue how old the fluid in the car is but IVE been driving it for over a year so prolly a good time to flush. Any suggestions on a good fluid? Im not a racer but Im not shy about using my cars capabilities so while race quality fluid is probably overkill. a good preformance fluid wouldnt goto waste.
Ill look into the MC brace. sounds like a good cheap way to increase petal feel. keep you all informed!

Tires Plus's website is where I got my stainless lines from, but I forgot how much I paid. I think they were for a WRX, too.

I have WRX lines on mine, fit perfectly. Good time to flush the system while you're at it.
