Just a friendly reminder, unless you filed for an extension.

I'm online at 11:38pm trying to help my brother file his online for free on Turbo Tax. Their servers are swamped. I've tried to load the page 4 times and their servers can't handle the load - errors out each time.

Anyways hope everyone's got some fat refunds to look forward to. Mod time!

your reminder made me go re-check the e-file I did last week. And it was rejected because my W-2 is screwed up. wow that's infuriating.

Ha! I just checked the manilla folder I kept all my tax records in to see if I had misplaced a worker's comp check there. Behold! Both state and federal tax forms in their addressed envelopes, not yet stamped or mailed.

Teaches me not to trust the woman with my money!!! At least I found them tonight. I'd hate to rent a wood chipper on short notice. J/K.

If you're really stuck, just go to Tax Act www.taxact.com and e-file an extension. Go to the "forms" section and scroll down untill you see the word extension. Completely free of charge. You can then procrastinate until Oct 15!

Not true.

The IRS encourages everyone to file by the normal April 15 tax deadline: The sooner you file the sooner you can receive your stimulus payment. But if you have obtained a valid six-month extension to file or if you are filing to establish your eligibility for the stimulus payment, filing by Oct. 15 means the IRS can process your return and issue a stimulus payment before the end of the year. But if you file an extension and you owe, you get penalized. If there's a refund due to you, they don't much care when you file.

I did my taxes the week after I recieved my W2 in the mail. Already spent the refund check and am awaiting my stimulus check as well. Got a notification a few weeks ago that I qualify for up to $600 so I wouldnt be suprised if I got $200 or some other crappy amount. But hey, its free money i guess :)

www.taxact.com Its what I use for the past 3 years. $17 for e-filing local and federal, refunds direct deposited in 6 to 10 business days.

Hmmm on H&R Block's website it said that certain states didn't need to do a state tax form and it listed WA as one of them.

So do I have more money?! Lol.

Wa does have a state tax....or at least it did.

Regarding property & sales tax. Almost all states are going to have these. There are a few exceptions regarding sales tax.....but I believe all have property tax.....however the amount of property tax will vary......from "normal" to outrageous!

Sorry. need to update my Profile. I moved across the river into Portland Oregon.

Washington pays their "state tax" at the cash register in the form of sales tax. Oregon takes it our of your paycheck.

I live in The People's Republic of Taxconsin. They're not happy unless we're in the top 5 of every tax. They're tring to tax hospital stays now. Smokes went up a buck a pack on the first of the year too.

Well I did some research and since WA has sales tax, I don't have to pay a state tax.
