Snorkus Delete & Fender Liner Removal Fixes

So one of this cars PO ( I reckon I'm about the 5th) removed the fender liner and snorkus... allowing water into the air box... which... in addition to eating filters gets the MAF wet... which kills performance.
So a couple of months ago I threw a 90* rubber intake elbow in the hole... which helps a little bit... but it still gets wet every now and then and still sucks in a lot of dirt.
So today I:
Added a 1.5 ft pipe
Replaced the fender liner
Threw in a K&N Panel Replacement Filter
SOOO much better
Now way in hell waters gonna get in now... And sounds so much better. Now more raspy sucking for air.
Here are some pics:

Yeah... It flares at the top...

Gross huh... no wonder the turbo was suffocating.
