I've decided to put my closet full of old school electronics in the Pure White SS. I used to be into sound quality and gathered a nice collection of stuff. Now it's all 10 years old, but paid for.

I need 2 things. First, speakers. All 4. Second is a way to play MP3 on my old Sony Unilink system. The XA 110 Ipod adaptor doesn't work with with the old stuff. Maybe a unilink CD changer that plays MP3?

What I've got on the shelf:

Source:
Sony CDX C910 head unit. The good one. Copper chassis et. all.
Sony XDP 210EQ DSP/EQ unit. Controlled seamlessly by the C910.
Sony CDX 805 cd Changer. Optical out to the 210EQ.

Amps:
Soundstream Rubicon405, 5 channel 400 watts
or for 'more powa'
Soundstream Rubicon604, 4 channel 600 watts
Soundstream Rubicon502, 2 channel 500 watts
These are the old, good Soundstreams. Made in the USA, mil spec pc boards.

Subs:
Soundstream Exact 10, 2 10 subs. these have been bulletproof for me through the years. Had a warm punchy sound that blended well with the speaker I had at the time.

I used to roll with MB Quart QM RKB 160 and QM RKB 130 speakers. Back then, not the total top of the line, but way better than your average Kenwood/Pioneer/Sony/etc.

I'm looking for suggestions on something similiar for speakers. I'm 10 years older now and not into the stereo scene like I was before, but still enjoy quality over quantity. I don't mind spending some cash, just not as much as I did the first time around.

What about MP3? Does Sony make (or made) a player or changer that can integrate with what I've already got? A DVD changer could probably hold my whole collection (4gigs x 10 discs) if something like that exists.

Open to suggestions. I know some of you have got to be into this stuff as much, or more, that I was back in the day.

i wish i could help more...

im still new to the whole sound system thing, and fairly behind in that, but ive had some pretty good luck with my infinity reference 6 1/2"(dont quote me, but i believe its 70W RMS 93db sensitivity) up front, i had no real reason to put any in back but for the sake of back seat passengers i just placed some cheap jvc's back there to kinda fill in the rest until i can find some straight mids without the tweeter (i cant find any) but i guess it mainly depends on what kind of sound youre looking for, the infinity's can handle plenty of high end on the built in tweeter with out the boost, and handles the mid to low range greatly, the bass in it gets nice and low without distorting. and i believe there only about $100 for a pair.

any corrections additions etc. would be greatly appreciated, im still learning, and willing to learn.

I had Infinty Kappas in my SS, the rears were sun-scorched and blown inside of a year, and, yes the covers were on, under a tinted rear window. Stay away.
