JDM/EDM headlights Vs UsDM headlights

I see a lot of raving over the glass headlights that didn't make the trip to America (or at least the US). I saw one post that said they had been told that EDM headlights where the best upgrade your could buy for Preface Legacys.

Whats the differance. Ok. ones plastic and the other glass. The glass looks shiny pretty I got that. but functionally. Whats the difference?

1. Light beam is more focused on road ahead, not up into the sky.
2. City Light compartment outboard of main reflector...hook up to parking lights or fit a brighter bulb and make DRLs, or strobes, LEDs, etc.
3. Electric level adjuster motors...OK, not many people hook them up, but it's there if you're bored one weekend.
4. Road sign illumination...Right side light has a kick-up in the beam that is aimed right at road signs, but does not bother oncoming drivers.
5. H-4 bulbs allows running high-watt lights, and are easier to find.
5.1. Sharp cut-off of light beam lets you get away with high-watt bulbs without pissing off oncoming traffic.(see #1)
6. They don't turn yellow.

Check my review in the review forum. I have several before/ after shots of USDM vs EDM on a '93.

I short - they rock, and ARE the best thing you can get as far as headlights go for our cars.


$315 is good too - I paid $350 iirc (they are in perfect condition and came in the original Subaru boxes)
