running test...
hydro carbons....0.5787 all...0.5000 avg....0.1892
car mon....23.5091 all....9.32 avg.....4.00
o/n......0.3058 allowable....1.24 avg...0.5258
i'm thinking 02 sensor but i really have no idea, dont know when it was last replaced, or cat, when my wife gets home i will check vacuum hoses and misc.
i also get a max of 375 km on a full tank driving like an old lady
i think that is around 230 miles
fyi, titaniium cat back, k&N , 110,000 km owned for 1 year, coffe cup, new plugs and wires, 93 ss auto
cat back means i have no resonator....probably shouldnt matter
car sat for 3 weeks 1 day before test
ran on a mix of chevron 94 and mohawk 94 mohawk contains 10% ethanol
Thanks Guys

Do normal tuneup stuff and consider doing the O2 also.
My 93 without a cat passed the sniffer test with plenty of mods. I think the DIS-2 helped a lot, but I also used to get 21-22 MPG during mixed driving, which is much better than you're doing.

I agree with DLC. I'd say 02 sensor, coolant temp sensor (2 pin), spark plugs and then a reset of the computer followed by a couple hours of driving.

thanks guys, i just did the plugs and wires 2 or 3 mths ago, what causes to much carbon mono? unburnt fuel?
why do the coolant temp sensor?
thanks

The ECU Coolant temperature sensor can cause the car to run rich.

can you explain why?
thanks

Because thats its job! How else would the car start and idle on a cold morning...

yeah yeah i know that, but how does that have an effect on my fuel ratio

Why are you bustin my balls?
The ECU adds extra fuel when the coolant temp sensor gives a cold signal. What did you think the point of the temp sensor was? Running the fans is its secondary duty.

just trying to learn, i usally dont talk shit on the forum, i'm not startin' by wasting my time with you
thanks for your reply Dave.
I still have those stock93 ss wheels for sale for cheap probably only two of them that will work, the other two are damaged

I don't quite see how ciper didn't answer your question. Maybe things could have been said in a different tone, but that's what the coolant temp sensor does.
It provides fuel enrichment when the engine is cold. If the sensor is not working properly, you will have additional fuel being injected when it doesn't need to be, and you will run rich.

thanks josh, so if my sensor is saying that it's cold than that would also mean my fans do not turn on right?

Correct.
The coolant temp sensors are relatively cheap around $20. They are known to "go out" yet not give you a CEL, which is why if you're having temp related issues, or possibly running rich issues and your coolant temp sensor is old, it's not a bad idea to replace it.

after i blew my rad nipple on the highway i had to replace my radiator, pull the fans ect. ect., ever since then my fans seem to turn on less and they dont turn on much at idle like they used to but my temp gauge always stays right where it used to half way up, i think i will replace this sensor and see what it does,
just checkin out your website, very nice work. Thanks

that underdrive pulley actually bumped up your gas mileage, interesting. is it still working well? can you send me diagrams for that alernator pulley, were you just going to machine the stock one to make it smaller. oh yeah, and amonia, which is found in most window/glass cleaners will turn your tint purple, watch out.

The dash gauge is kind of inaccurate. Its also a separate sensor from the ECU temp sensor on our cars. I don't think they went to a single sensor until like 2005 or something.

It did a little bit if I recall....but that was quite a long time ago.
I'm currently running a stock sized lw aluminum pulley, not underdriven.
As for the alternator pulley. I'm not sure what I have left....but Go Fast Bits (GFB) makes a smaller diameter alternator pulley. I bought one, and was running it. However with some of my alternator issues I've recently had I discovered the GFB pulley was not true....I think I may have tweaked it when installing it with an impact wrench and it not being seated properly.
