Rainy day and bordom (Scoop)

Well after getting a tmic I figured the stock scoop is way too small to be effective. I wanted a larger "factory" looking scoop that looked like it belonged there. RS and WRX scoops look way out of place imho. I used a stock old scoop I had laying around as a base. The opening ended up being about the size of a gen 2 Outback/GT scoop, 3/8" taller than stock. Anywho here are some pics.

Basically I just took a stock scoop, cut the top part of the scoop at both ends (just before it curls down to the base). I cut almost all the way leaving a 1/4 inch at the back, and curled the top of the scoop up 3/8". I then scruffed the inside of the soop and added 2 layers of fiberglass cloth with polyester resin. Then flared in the raised scoop to the base with regular bondo (where you can see the gray primer. Viola, now I just need to get a color matched can of paint.

It'll take a good couple hours, plus the time waiting for resin/bondo to dry.
