In other countries there was a button on the dash that allowed you to run the car in full electric mode under 40mph until the batteries went to a certain level.

You can buy the switch and with very minor modification add it back into the current Prius. For some reason Toyota disabled it for the US but left the code in place.

Perfect for teenagers sneaking out at 3am to meet a guy who happens to be 11 years older...

The Lexus 460LH has that mode for overseas. It's "for" the over crowded and under ventilated parking garages.
