It seems we've had many conversations about new Subaru developments so I've started this thread to discuss the one that matters to me

The most interesting articles I've found as of late would be
http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english/NE ... 22/147866/
and
http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol/li ... 638139.ece
Looking at the information it seems as if they took the EZ30 and cut it into 2/3. The preliminary peak torque of 258 at 1800rpm is quite lovely.

What have you'se guys seen?

Heh.. Clarkson knows his business, but he's got a pathological hatred of diesels that seems to cloud his judgement sometimes.

I think Clarkson's a spoiled douche who still thinks he's 13 and the year is around 1965, so that article sounds like an endorsement to me.

yeah it pretty much says he would love it if it werent a diesel, he would love it if he had to put a loan down to pay for a tank of fuel, or if it cost is out of the pockets of most upper class citizens and its practicality was next to none

But i cant freakin wait for it to come overseas!! i will scream like a little girl when it gets here!

If you read the comments for the story (30-40) you will see that no one agrees with him. I've read other real world reviews of the thing and those who are used to driving other manufacturers diesel say the Subaru implementation is excellent.

I've read the same. I heard it drives more like a gas engine and is one of the best small diesels on the market. That's why I wanted one for the Cessna project, but the numbers just don't work vs. an EJ22.
