So yeah, I put my FWD legacy on craigslist...

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/car/720340893.html

here is what I got for a response to the ad:
Kenneth Brin, kennethbrin001@live.com wrote:Hello, is this item still available for sale? please get back to me as soon as possible. thanks
I sent back:
Yep, still available, if you'd like to come by and see it just let me know!

You can call me at (360) 846-7858
Then I get this:
Kenneth Brin, kennethbrin001@live.com wrote:Hello,
Thanks for your reply i got all your information about the item and am ok with it, i am adding $100 to the asking price for you to sell for me. i will be making your payment today, i need your full name and address and your valid phone number to make the payment today through certified check i will handle the shipment myself. The check will get to you in 2-5 days time and when you recived the check you can then get the check cashed at your Bank i will wait for you to confirm and clear the check. The payment will be in excess as i will want you to contact my shipping agent with the excess fund after you must have confirmed and cashed the check. i will wait for your bank to clear the Check so you can deduct your own money and send the excess fund to my shipping agent via money gram or Western Union Money Transfer cos he needs the excess funds for the shipment of the item. Thanks and God Bless, you can get the posting deleted from craiglist.
I'm thinking... WTF you prick...

I aint even gonna post what I sent him back...

Wait... so...

He pays for the car + $100
Waits for your confirmation and clears the check
You pay the shipping agent with excess funds
The car is shipped to him

Where's the scam in that? The money is in your possession before the car is shipped, and if shipping dips into the cost of the car, you can call it off.

Am I missing something?

Let me guess, then you have to arrange shipping to Nigeria, right?

Two things trigger the Bullsh*t alarm there; the overpayment, and the "god bless" at the end. Sumtin' ain't right here.

Played that game before. Even got the "certified check". Once you get it, you get another sob story that says he can't wait for the check to clear and needs it done now cause someone's not happy.
Blah Blah Blah. Stupid scammers.
