Has anyone ever put the WRX coil on plug system on their car? I'm interested on improving my car's ignition system and would like to use the WRX as an upgrade.

Can this even be done? Easy swap or more work than it's worth?

iof its a 3 wire coil then yes easy swap. 4 bolts and a plug

I vaguely remember that you could convert the newer coil on plug units to bypass the built in igniter and instead rely on the original unit.

I recently converted my JDM EJ20G to run '03 USDM Ignition Coils, as per this post:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1192028

The only reason I did this is that the stock JDM ignition coils that come with these motors are usually no good. I got a brand-new set of those '03 Coils, converted them to run in my motor and now the ignition system runs like a charm.

I'm not sure how you'd go about converting to the USDM Ignition Coils on an EJ22T... Or if it would be worth it without any other mods for that matter...
