Preferably Rio Red.
I've put in a bid on a set that's listed on ebay. Just hopeful to get an idea of what they might look like on my beast.

Alright. Anyone have any idea what size the tires are in these photos? I really like it... plus my SS is lowered and I don't want to have to bring it back up too much.
Just won the auction a couple minutes ago. Comes out to $243 + $94 for shipping.

Good deal! I would say with coilovers, you should be able to get at least a 215-45-17 in there. That is what I will be running shortly. Just needs a bit of rolling to the rear fenders. Might even be able to do 225's depending on offset.

Offset is 53. I'll probably settle with the 215's. You think I'll be able to find a set of 215-40-17? Or would you advise against such a thin sidewall?

It's not uncommon to see guys running 40 series on their WRX's and STi's, but that is usually with a 18 inch rim. Personally, I think the 45 looks best and gives you some good sidewall. They are more common to find at a good price as well.

Sounds good. I'll go with the 215-45-17 then. Thanks for the input. Now I just need to find a place to ship them to. It sucks being between houses.
By the way, anyone know anything about these lugnuts?

Never heard of that brand. I got some muteki's and love em!

I'll look into the Muteki's, probably in black.
My mom gave me permission to use her Les Schwab account to buy my tires, so I think as soon as the wheels show up and I put some bronze (or maybe gunmetal) paint on them, like the white RS above, I'm going to get a set of 215-45-17 summers (or would you suggest all-seasons?) mounted since I already have a set of winter tires for the stock wheels.
What do you guys think? My car is Rio Red, so keep that in mind.

Bronze on those wheels would look great! IMO it is a good setup on red. Never seen gunmetal on red before, would be cool too. I am running the black muteki's and they look sweet. Lighter than stock, and are all locking.
If you have a set of winters, I'd say get a good summer tire that is also good in the rain at times. If you are going through schwabs, I think they still carry the toyo proxes 4's. Those are pretty awesome all around tires.
That's just me though, hopefully some others chime in.

Do you run the open or closed end Muteki's?

I'm running Ecsta ASX's right now and I love them. They break loose just when I want them to. lol I'm really just exploring new options.

ok but seriously how much weight are you saving with these?
probably not much.
the easiest way to compensate would be to not wear a belt for one day

or take out a square foot of carpet from under the rear seat...
ya losing weight is gr8 but is it really worth the cost...?

For those who like things in simple terms.... We will just call them security lugs from now on.
That is their best feature.

Pardon me for being a noob... but how exactly do they equate to "security lugs".
