My radio got stolen

So after going to bed last night all excited that I might be able to jump on a sweet new suspension, I get up this morning to find my drivers car door open.
They f'cking stole my stereo. Broke the trim piece, dropped the screws where the landed and cut the wires. It was a nice stereo too, even had my jump drive in it. Not the nicest, but still a $200 setup.
Everything else in the car is still there and intact. Thank God.
The worst part is that they broke into my car. Little pieces of shit. I sleep with a .45 under the pillow, and damn do I wish I'd known they were f'cking with my car.
I made a police report, but I don't expect to see much good come from it. I'll start watching the craigslist and see if anything pops up. For anyone cruising those lists, the radio was a Kenwood with a USB drive port on the front. I'll get the model number later today.
Thanks for letting me vent. I know a lot of other guys here have had similar experiences and worse.
Anyone have any good recommendations on an alarm system? I want the system to go off unless they hit a hidden switch or a radio transmitter button.
F'ck!

Ive lost three stereo's this way. Your right, the feeling of having your car broken into is worse than the thought of driving w/out a stereo. One stereo was a $300 Clarion that I miss to this day. I couldnt afford to replace it, but ive been watching eBay for some deals.
So yeah, i feel your pain.

I bought a clifford shortly after getting the car.
It was worth the $450.
I can leave the windows down or sunroof open, and if anyone puts a hand inside the perimeter, the alarm goes off.

Pricks stole my ex's stereo out of her Monte Carlo SS twice. Caused more damage each time than the stereos were worth and that was the easiest car there was to break into without having to damage anything. That was in the mid-nineties, though. Haven't heard of people stealing stereos much anymore. Whole cars, GPS units, or ipods are the biggest things here today.
It's like in Pulp Fiction where Vince is discussing how someone keyed his Malibu and how it would have been worth the guy doing it if he could have caught him.
I love that in TX, they let that dude blow away those two pricks for robbing his neighbor's house. I hate my neighbors, but if pussy MA would let people use deadly forced to protect property (hell, they'll prosecute you for protecting yourSELF), hell yeah, I'd blow away some losers just for the good it'd do the world (and myself - I think it would be a great stress reliever). Then I'd get tattoos of kill flags from their country(ies) of origin on my arm.

Thanks guys. I was pretty hot this morning, still pretty pissed, but trying to keep in mind it's just a material item. Insurance will cover everything but a $100 deductible.
Sucks that it's going to cost me more money and more time.
And Steve, I love it and completely agree. I'd love the chance to 'set things right'.
Drew, the Clifford system that you got, was it $450 for the system and installation or just the system? Did you install it yourself, by chance was it installed by someone in Spokane? I definately like the sound of it so far, at this point I don't anyone getting close to my car without my knowledge.

For alarms, I'd recommend a CompuStar. That's what my friends and I have. The alarm systems works great, and it comes with a remote start and turbo timer built into it. It also has a two-way remote so if someone even taps your car a bit, the remote beeps and flashes where on the car it was hit.
That way you can run out with your .45 before they get away

many good alrms out there, but pricey they are... i have a OS Alpine but is's kinda sweet.
Problem is sometime asi don't use it. Sometimes I forget to even lock my car
:I have a Clarion Touch Screen that retails aroun $800. I found my car rifled through 2 months ago, everything opened/moved/looked through. All they took was the coins in my center console...
BUT they left an ashtray (that my neighbors keep on their porch) on my drivers seat!
F'ing crack heads.......

Someone jacked the radio in my SS. It's a horrible feeling to have someone violate your property like that. It's not even the stealing of the radio.
They stole my radio and my backpack with all of my school books and notes and term papers in it. I'm just happy I brought my laptop into the house.
I have a Clifford RSX3.5 in my Forester now. It's a 2-way with a surprising range. I don't have all of the features set up, but if you bump the car the alarm will go off and if any door opens with the alarm armed, all hell breaks loose. I'm going to get a second siren to mount inside of the car soon. Ebay was pretty innexpensive. I think around $250, though install was a REAL pain.

Thanks for all the support guys. I'm feeling better today, still pissed as hell but starting to accept the violation. It really is more about being broke into than the radio. I've been talking to a couple of the neighboors and starting to get a feel for 'who' may have done it. There's a couple Sherrif deputies who live in the complex so I'll be putting a couple of signs at the mailboxes letting everyone know what occured and to be on the lookout for shady people.
F'cking crack heads.
Flysti, thanks for looking out for me. The radio I had was a Kenwood KDC-MP435U -
click
I also appreciate the car alarm suggestions. Keep em' coming. I've never felt the need to look into them so I'm pretty uneducated.

Rig up the South African flame thrower anti-carjacking system - fry those worthless cocksuckers.

Another vote for Clifford. They've been around in the business for a LONG time.
Steve, I saw something in the news the other day about that guy that shot those two guys robbing his neighbors. I'm all for it...he even warned them he had a gun....he was protecting himself.
