Question for you California Smog People.....

Ok, so a while ago i posted about the Greddy EVO2 Exhaust that i got from a buddy of mine... been sitting around collecting dust... until later today...
...cuz its going ON!
So! I also have to pass an emissions (smog) test very, very soon. My stock muffler is still perfect, and im going to have the muffler guy set up the Greddy exhaust to be bolt on, so i can just throw the other exhaust back on if i want to, or sell the Greddy to anyone on this site if i dont like it....
My question is about the CARB number. (California Air Resources Board). I've been reading a lot about aftermarket this and non CARB certified that, and looking at my 3 or 4 year old Greddy exhaust, there is NO carb number on it anywhere.... I called Greddy, and the guy said that "because it does not alter the catalitic converter, i am ok" I then asked for the CARB number (ive been told by law enforcement that every model of intake or exhaust will have its own number, even if not stamped on the product), Greddy had no idea what i was talking about....
I'm concerned about throwing the exhaust on.. and taking it to smog... passing smog (or failing for some other reason) and then the guy goes: "No bad emissions, but i cant pass you because of that coffee can you've got there, $70 please, thank you come again... because you have to" (then he walks inside, counting my $70 laughing)
I'm also lazy, its 100 degrees outside, the damn state is on fire... and dont really feel like switching the exhausts, unless i REALLY have to... which is why i'm picking the oh-so-mighty wise brains of legacycentral.org .....
So .. ?
