So yesterday we put 220 KM on my car. The first 100 or so (give or take a few) the car was running awesome, but nearing the end (last 120 or so) the car seemed to get progressivly worse. It kind of pops and spits when i floor it from 1000 RPM up to about 3500RPM, and once i get into the higher rpm range it seems to be better, but still, if i floor it, it will bog lots, almost like when you run a 2 stroke too rich. The problem came on over about 220km, and no check engine light came on, so i think its the fuel filter ? Any ideas ?

My car started doing this suddenly one day. I always though plug/wire failures were gradual but in the end new plugs and wires fixed it up perfectly.
My plugs were rusty and wet somehow and the wires had welded themselves to some of them causing me to rip them on removal.

hmm... now it seems to run fine with very slight hesitation ? I'll check my wires and what not, i still think it might be that fuel filter though

Fuel filter won't clear up at high rpm, but plug wires can. Unless you have Magnecors, I've found them to be nearly a yearly replacement. Doesn't hurt to do the filter anyway, but plug wires do tend to go suddenly, so much so that they can make it appear something catastrophic happened to the engine. Fuel filter tends to cause high rpm problems and I've never had them show such dramatic symptoms as plug wires.
