Outback Rental Car

I've been in Alabama for most of the past two weeks for work. I got a Outback for my rental car this past week.

It wasn't too bad, however the 4-banger is really quite gutless compared to even my impreza 4 cylinder....or the H6 Outback that my ex-gf had. Otherwise my only other gripe was the seats. They seem to bother my back on longer drives. But it's not consistent. Again this happened on my ex's outback as well. Sometimes I would have bad back pains/issues, other times not. So I don't know if a normal legacy seat would be any better or if it's just how the seats are.

Here's some pics

As we keep bitching about, new cars are just too heavy to be moved effectively by a 4cyl.

I did deliveries in a loaner Outback wagon a while back when this dealer was owned by Starling and my POS Mazda truck was broken down. I was in it a good part of the day and my back never hurt... although I was kinda "in a hurry," so I was never actually settled in my seat

Funny that a Legacy Guy got a Legacy Rental car.

I also think the car is too big for a N/A 4cyl, but it should be OK with a Turbo 4.
I do like the intake manifold of the newer N/A cars & am trying to get my hands on one to try on the OBS-T.

When I was leaving the previous week I saw they had one, so when I flew in the next week I called and requested to get it. They didn't make any promises, but I ended up getting it.

I had an 08 Impreza 5-door when I was in Oregon two weeks ago.

Really was impressed by that car. Didn't ever boot it, but it got out of its own way and netter 28-30MPG while doing it. I dig that car.

Last year when I was on vacation in Florida, I was able to get a plain Jain Legacy Sedan. Power wise it was better than the legacy I own, it did have better road manners but the visibility out the back was lacking a bit.
