I'm starting an engine compartment cleaning project... and The silicone tubes used for my intake system are pretty dirty. What would you guys suggest I use to clean them? Would WD-40 work?

Also, what can I use to sort of recondition the outside of rubber hoses? Not all of them need replacing.

Try silicone lube to recondition. Using some dish soap shouldn't hurt to clean them out. Even non chlorinated brake cleaner.

I was waiting for that. Back when I worked at a medical device company we used a lot of silicone tubing, and a lot of rubbing alcohol.
