The Wagon ALMOST Stranded me tonight...

... I say almost because my wagon always seems to get me home.. we've got that type of relationship...
As i'm sitting on 880 north in traffic headed towards oakland.... i realize im having more and more of a problem getting my car into gear... then i start to realize my friction point is get closer and closer to the firewall until the friction point is almost AT the firewall...inches from it...
I BARELY get home... BARELY shifting, lugging the engine as little as possible, coasting ect....
I look in the engine compartment, everything seems ok... i look by my pedal... and the damn cable grommit at the end has slid ALL THE WAY UP and almost off... YIPES!!!! I bet if i threw the clutch pedal down one or two more times... it would have popped off and there goes my shifting...
Heading to oakland subaru tomorrow...picking up a new cable... if they have them in stock *crosses fingers*...

(keep in mind this is a NA transmission.... so cable actuated... no hydro)
this cable is also the same for 95-99 legacy's, 93 - 97? imprezas...and one other car that slips my mind....
