So I'm about to do my front suspension...

I had this clutter that went on while driving. It's kind of a constant speed clunk, but I noticed it picked up a lot during mild cornering - especially right Interstate sweepers, and after 60 MPH. (Though it still didn't stop me from trying my damnedest to hit 120 and falling ever so short of that mark) It also occurs at 25-30.

A month ago, Sears Auto said it was the front driver's ball joint. Well, I ordered AC Delco ball joints and Subaru tie rod ends from Rock Auto. I'm going to install them once I get a ball joint press/kit, buuut...

What if they aren't causing the clatter that I can feel through the steering wheel? What else could be wrong? I might as well order some more parts and replace every possible culprit that I can. And also, any recommendations of what tools work best for replacing ball joints and tierod ends?

I know you already have the ball joints, but I'm going to refer you to this thread

The bushings are probably alright. You can check them when you do the ball joint and tie rod work. If they don't have any slop, they should be fine. Beyond the ball joints & tie rods, you have strut top hats, struts, and possibly cv axle joints.

Start with the tie rods & ball joints, but do put your hands on all the components I mention and make sure they feel solid.

As for tools, I used a two jaw puller to get the ball joints out. A sledge is also useful, penetrating oil, MAPP gas torch, and patience.

The "noise" is merely the clunk itself being louder.
