Damn, that was one hell of an impact. Looks like you got rear-ended by a truck.

Everyone was checked out at the ER and released. Girllfriend, her father, and my 4 y.o. son. Basically everyone walked away. Sore today, but alive!

Yes, rear ended by a truck. You can see that it went over the top of the bumper. Turned the entire cargo area into a crumple zone.

that's what I was thinking

Glad things are ok with everyone man, especially your boy. That stuff is scary when you're young. Goes to show how Subarus are such safe vehicles, I doubt you'd have been that lucky in a Cavalier or something.

one of my friends just got hit by a drunk who made a left turn into his car... only casualty was a box of ice cream cones his girlfriend was holding, and the other guy's police record

I pulled a guy out of a wreck the other day at work, well, I didn't pull but he smashed his E 430 right into the side of a chevy blazer and airbags deployed. Still had his blackberry in his hand too... priorities right?

Dude, that sucks out loud!!! Great lookin' car down the drain. It's also a real wonder no one was severely hurt from it. You're damn lucky!

Jesus Christ! Car saved your life. Probably the other cocksucker, too - what would've happened to him if he'd hit a tree instead? Amazing nobody was hurt. I love all the weight we have in cars for safety when the compatibility issue between bumper heights makes many of them pointless. Doubt my Mazda would've held up like that.

Glad everyone's okay.

On a lighter note... why is the hood up? Were you planning to drive it home after a short inspection? :P

I think fire department did that, probably to disconnect the battery or pull the fuseable link.

Holy crap. I'm glad everyone is okay. That looked pretty intense. Were you stopped and the truck just didn't see you?

+1 good to hear everyone is OK.

+1 with evolutionmovment - dam bumper beam did not matter in this kind of impact as it was hit over the bumper....

Holy crap! Lucky to have everyone walk away! Make sure you guys are healthy before you settle with the insurance company.
