Apexi Power Intake questions

I just added the Power Intake and there a two things I'd like your opinion on.
First:
In the instructions thay want you to install this plug/restrictor in the BPV hose between the valve itself and the return to the turbo inlet elbow. What purpose would this serve? It seems that partially blocking this would negate the whole purpose of a BPV in the first place.
Second:
There is no home for this hose. It seems like it only goes from the charcoal canister to the intake resonator, with a vacuum valve inline. I'm thinking that if I just remove the assembly from the canister and plug the nipple all should be swell.

Not sure why you'd want the restrictor....
Yeah you should be able to just cap that off. In theory it'd be good to have a check valve so as to not pressure the canister/fuel tank. I don't really think it's a big deal though.

You should just put the re stricter in and go for a drive, at full boost. Then you will see what it is for.
I have the apexi intake installed so I know, and trust me you will like it.

Just on principal alone, I could only assume it makes for a louder sound when the BPV opens.

That's my guess too. To that I say.....Eeeww.
Honestly, the blowoff valve is just about the only 'performance' sound I truely dislike.

That is does, it also makes a very distinct fluttering sound. Its actually really nice. I think

I'm not sure that you'd want that restriction when trying to recirculate the pressure.

Couldn't that "fluttering" be compressor surge?

I got mine used here from a LC memeber. You can get them new from RHDJapan(?). There is a recent thread in the 'pre '02 Factory turbo forum over at NASIOC. Somebody has a link in that thread.

I just ordered one from RHDJapan.
Should be Apex'i part number 507-F001
Here is the thread with the pertinent information.
And I capped that line from the charcoal canister to the resonator off. It is an auxiliary purge for the canister.

Here are my solutions, if anybody is interested.
For the BPV restrictor, I just left it out as the only "positive" thing I could uncover is the sound it produces. I can say for certain it's a sound I will not like.
For the Evap hose, I found a non-turbo charcoal canister and eliminated the extra line and valve. Non-turbo on the left:
The smaller hose with the Tee was simply replaced with a new one-piece hose.
